On November 8, 2025, our community gathered at Monroe Community Church for A Chair Affair, our annual fundraiser celebrating the creativity and hard work of Arts in Motion students. As a nonprofit art studio offering movement, drama, art, and music classes for kids and adults with disabilities, this event is one of our favorite opportunities to showcase the talent that fills our studio all year long.
The evening featured a lively mix of student performances, artwork, food and drinks, a silent auction, and our signature live auction of artist-designed chairs. Local artists, AIM students, and community members transformed everyday chairs into functional works of art—each one unique, thoughtful, and full of personality. Walking through the space and watching guests discover their favorite pieces was a highlight of the night.
We were grateful to have delicious food provided by Provisions Chef, owned by AIM board member Brittany Essenmacher, and to be surrounded by the generosity of local businesses who contributed items and experiences to our silent and online auctions. Their support, along with the enthusiasm of everyone who attended, helped make this year’s fundraiser one of our most successful yet.

Most importantly, the funds raised at A Chair Affair go directly toward making our programs more sustainable, ensuring that AIM can continue offering accessible, inclusive arts experiences for years to come.
To everyone who created a chair, volunteered, donated, sponsored, or came out to celebrate with us—thank you. Your support strengthens our mission and uplifts our students in meaningful ways. We’re already looking forward to next year’s celebration! Mark your calendars for November 7, 2026 to celebrate our 15 year anniversary as a nonprofit!
